Funding Opportunities

There are numerous ways to support the League. Continue to be a member and paying dues is extremely important. Your dues [chapter members] get divided three ways. Part to the Chapter, part to the Division, and part to National. This helps pay for the three organizational levels. Dues provide critical unrestricted income. Another thing to do is work to make sure other members renew, and to promote new membership.

Other opportunities to support the League are also available. Participate in Chapter events and other things your Chapter does. On the State level there are several ways to support the Division. You can donate to one of the specific functions. One is the scholarship fund just begun to help students advance an environmental career. You can respond to requests for the Hospitality Committee (sent to Chapter Presidents) and to requests from the Youth Camp. This can be either cash or items to make the Division Summer Camp run smoother.

The Division also has an Endowment, and there are some specific dedicated accounts as well as a general fund. Send inquiries to Endowment President Herb Read. [See Officers, page 2 for contact information.] A donation can also be made generally to the Division. Since both the Division and the Indiana Division Endowment are 501(c)3 tax exempt non profits, donations are tax deductable.

At the National level you can

1. Respond to the annual appeal by sending a donation.
2. Get a League Credit Card and use it.
3. Donate to Earth Share through Workplace Giving and specify the League. This also helps the Division.
4. Purchase items from the League. [See items on web site or call the National office for a catalog]
5. Remember the League in your will. This can be directed toward the Trust or the Endowment.
6. Donate to specific campaigns -like the current Wetlands Campaign.

Always stay in touch to find out what opportunities are out there.

The League is just like any non-profit. It needs your time and money. Some of us have more of one than the other. Each needs to give according to their ability.
